i have a huge heart for the military and those who serve. i was in the army. i was a performer for the USO and the DOD, stateside and overseas. i have so many loved ones who’ve served in all branches of the military.
i don’t care if you’re a pacifist. it doesn’t matter if you can’t stand behind the ’cause’ of the ‘conflict’. you can stand behind the man or woman making the sacrifice.
there is no good reason for war. but you can champion peace and still support the peacekeeper.
we are, all of us, composed of flesh and bone. driven by basic needs and human emotion. made up of heart and soul and conscience. we were not meant to kill. we can be taught to do so efficiently but there is nothing that can teach us to take that act lightly without some cost to ourselves.
we live in a world of conflict. with battles and struggles. with fear.
so there are those who protect. and they deserve our respect and so much more………….
maybe you’ve seen this photo story on pinterest. taylor and danielle…..a soldier who sacrificed and the woman who stands by his side, come what may. i’ve edited their photo montage DRASTICALLY in an attempt to save space so please view their love story in full as it continues here.
theirs is not the only story of sacrifice and true devotion. there are thousands in this country alone who have lost a limb, a life, and peace of mind as a result of military service.
i’m not able to put into words everything this print means to me, all that these words represent to me. but it is also for those who love unconditionally. those who’ve lost. those who’ve found. those who’ve served.
100% OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS PRINT WILL BE DONATED TO THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS ORGANIZATION.
this is a small gesture on my part. seemingly insignificant in light of all that’s needed. but i do know that from small gestures can come great accomplishments.
